After an early breakfast, depart Nairobi and drive north through Nanyuki, crossing the equator en route to Samburu National Reserve. The journey offers scenic views of Mt. Kenya and rural landscapes.
Arrive in Samburu in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in this unique semi-arid reserve, home to rare northern species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, and gerenuk.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Lake Nakuru is also one of the best parks to see both black and white rhinos.
