1 Day Shimba Hills National Reserve

 Hotel Pickup from Diani or Mombasa
Your driver-guide will pick you up early from your hotel or resort in Diani Beach (or Mombasa). Drive through local villages and coconut plantations as you make your way to Shimba Hills National Reserve, about 45 km from Diani.

Enter Shimba Hills National Reserve
Arrive at the park gate, complete registration, and begin your morning game drive. The park covers about 300 square kilometers of coastal rainforest, woodland, and grassland. Enjoy sightings of elephants, Sable antelopes, giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, and various monkeys and bird species.

 Nature Walk to Sheldrick Falls
With an armed Kenya Wildlife Service ranger, enjoy a guided nature walk to Sheldrick Falls, one of the park’s most scenic highlights. The walk takes about 30–45 minutes each way through forest trails filled with butterflies and birds, leading to a stunning 25-meter waterfall where you can relax and take photos.

Picnic or Lodge Lunch
After your walk, enjoy a picnic lunch in a designated area overlooking the hills or have lunch at Shimba Hills Lodge, one of Kenya’s most charming forest lodges built on stilts above a waterhole — an excellent spot to see wildlife while dining.

Afternoon Game Drive & Scenic Viewpoints
Continue your game drive exploring the reserve’s panoramic viewpoints such as Elephant Hill, Marere Viewpoint, and Giriama Point, offering breathtaking views of the rolling hills and the Indian Ocean beyond.

 Depart from Shimba Hills
Begin your journey back to Diani or Mombasa, enjoying the scenic coastal countryside on your way back.

 Return to Your Hotel
Arrive back at your hotel or resort in the late afternoon, marking the end of your exciting 1-day Shimba Hills safari.
