Full Itinerary

Day 1: Mombasa / Diani – Tsavo East National Park
Depart from your hotel in Mombasa, Diani, or Kilifi early in the morning and drive along the Mombasa–Nairobi Highway to Tsavo East National Park, entering through the Bachuma Gate. Enjoy a mid-morning game drive as you search for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and gazelles across the rolling red plains.
Visit Aruba Dam, a popular watering spot where herds of wildlife gather. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch.
Afternoon: Relax at the lodge or enjoy an afternoon game drive until sunset.
Dinner and overnight: Voi Safari Lodge (or similar)

Day 2: Full Day in Tsavo East National Park
Spend the entire day exploring the vast Tsavo East wilderness. With over 13,000 square kilometers, the park is home to the famous “Red Elephants,” large prides of lions, buffalo, antelope, and over 500 bird species.
You’ll visit scenic spots such as:
Lugard Falls on the Galana River
Muddy Water Pools where hippos and crocodiles are often seen
Yatta Plateau, the world’s longest lava flow
Return to the lodge for a leisurely evening with stunning views from the lodge’s cliffside vantage point.

Day 3: Tsavo East – Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, depart Tsavo East and enjoy a scenic drive into Tsavo West National Park, passing through the beautiful landscapes that connect the two reserves. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp.
In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive visiting:
Mzima Springs, a series of natural pools fed by underground streams from Mount Kilimanjaro — home to hippos, crocodiles, and fish visible through an underwater viewing chamber.
Shetani Lava Flow, an ancient black lava field created by volcanic eruptions centuries ago.
Dinner and overnight: Ngulia Safari Lodge or similar in Tsavo West

Day 4: Tsavo West – Return to Tsavo East (Voi Area)
After an early morning game drive and breakfast, enjoy a relaxed drive back to Voi Safari Lodge in Tsavo East.
Arrive in time for lunch and spend your afternoon at leisure — swimming, watching wildlife at the waterhole from the lodge terrace, or enjoying one last evening game drive before sunset.

Day 5: Tsavo East – Return to Mombasa / Diani
After breakfast, depart the lodge for your final early morning game drive en route to the park gate. Watch elephants and giraffes one last time before exiting the park.
Drive back to Mombasa or Diani Beach, arriving at your hotel or resort by early afternoon — marking the end of your 5-day Tsavo safari adventure.
